Cap and Gown Information
Registering for cap and gown
The cap and gown registration process will be made available at a later date.
What’s included
Regalia consists of a mortarboard cap, gown, and tassel. Graduate and doctoral students will also receive a hood for their degree. All regalia are complimentary and students can keep them after the ceremonies.
Mortarboard caps are the appropriate ceremonial headwear for all degree programs. At Northeastern University, tams are given exclusively to Doctor of Philosophy graduates.
Students receiving academic honors
Undergraduate students receiving academic honors of a 3.5 GPA or above will get a gold cord that can be worn during the ceremony. More information about honor cord pick up will be available at a later date.
