Registering for cap and gown
Students’ height and degree information is collected through their Graduation Application on their Student Hub. To learn more about Applying to Graduate or Viewing your Application to Graduate click here.
What’s included
Regalia consists of a mortarboard cap, gown, and tassel. Graduate and doctoral students will also receive a hood for their degree. All regalia are complimentary and students can keep them after the ceremonies.
Students receiving academic honors
Undergraduate students receiving academic honors of a 3.5 GPA or above will get a gold cord that can be worn during the ceremony. These will be available in Solomon Court during the open cap and gown pick-up days and times.
International flags
At the Commencement Ceremony each year, we celebrate Northeastern’s diverse and global graduating class by asking graduates to wave flags representing their home country, a location they did a global experience, or a place of importance to them. Boston graduates can fill out the Graduation Flag Form by April 1, 2023 to receive a flag. Flags will be available when you pick up your cap and gown. Please send any questions or concerns to [email protected].
