About College Celebrations
Leading up to the Commencement ceremony at Fenway Park, graduates also have the opportunity to attend their college celebration to be recognized with their peers on Northeastern’s campus. Each college will be hosting a unique experience for their graduates and festivities will be active across campus with photo ops, interactive installations, and fun gifts.
All College Celebrations will be held at Matthews Arena, unless otherwise noted. Please plan to join fellow classmates and guests immediately following at the Husky Hospitality Hub at Cabot Physical Education Center, for music and photo opportunities. The Husky Hospitality Hub will be open for 1.5 hours after the end of each College celebration. Each graduate can claim up to 3 guest tickets.
Seating in Matthews Arena is general admissions and on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.
*Times are subject to change.
Celebrations FAQ
What is the difference between Celebrations and Commencement?
These College Celebrations are recognitions of individual achievement where graduate names are called and graduates cross the stage. Celebrations are hosted by the college or special interest group.
University Graduate and Undergraduate Commencement ceremonies are the university-wide ceremonies at which President confers degrees. Doctor of Philosophy, School of Law, and College of Professional Studies graduates have their names read and cross the stage at their own Commencement ceremonies.
When will students move out?
Students living in spring 2025 university housing who are graduating seniors participating in Commencement exercises will have a move-out of 11 a.m. on Monday, May 12.
What happens if I have a combined major?
Students with a combined major will be eligible to attend both college celebrations associated with their degree. All college celebrations will be very similar in program and format, and it is not required to attend both. We recommend that students attend the college celebration of their primary college.
Will diplomas be handed out at this event?
No, all diplomas will be mailed directly to students 4-6 weeks after your conferral date.
Please contact [email protected] if you have any additional questions.
Will photos be taken at these events?
As students are being recognized they will be photographed by a professional photographer from GradImages. Students will receive an email post-ceremony with photo package options for purchase.
Photo opportunities will also be available all around campus and at Cabot Cage.
Do graduates wear regalia to the celebrations?
Yes, graduates should wear their regalia to their celebrations. Please note that students also need to keep their regalia if they also plan to attend the University Commencement Ceremony.
How can I register for celebrations?
First, please make sure that you applied to graduate by following the instructions here.
More information about ticket registration will be emailed to students at a later date closer to the celebration date.
