This ceremony will include the Investiture of Doctoral Hoods by the student’s advisor or associate director of the student’s college.

Rain or shine. In the event of rain, ponchos will be provided to students.
Leader Bank Pavilion is an outdoor tented venue by a waterfront. Please dress appropriately for New England weather.
Traffic in Boston’s Seaport can be unpredictable, particularly during rush hour so allow additional time for entry.

Duration:
The ceremony will last 1.5 – 2 hours.

The ceremony will be livestreamed at Northeastern Global News.

Eligibility

All Doctor of Philosophy candidates who complete their degree requirements by Summer 2026, Fall 2026, or Spring 2027 are eligible to attend the Doctor of Philosophy Commencement.

Tickets

Each graduate can claim up to ten (10) guest tickets.

Registration and guest ticket information will be communicated directly to students at a later date.

Ticket FAQ

Can I register to claim extra tickets?

Extra tickets are not available at this time. If additional tickets are needed after registrations are open, please email [email protected].

Do children and babies need tickets?

Children age 2 and younger who can sit on an adult’s lap for the duration of the ceremony do not require a ticket. Children over age 2 must have their own ticket.

What if I do not claim or use all of my tickets during registration?

After your initial ticket registration, you can log back into the ticketing webpage to access the remainder of your tickets until the day of the ceremony.
