Apply to Graduate
2025-26 Degree Candidates
All eligible 2025–26 degree candidates must complete the Graduation Application by the deadlines below. We’ll be communicating via email to share important information about this process, so please read all Northeastern emails about applying to graduate.
Read the instructions carefully as you fill out the Apply to Graduate form. You will not be able to go back into the application and update this information once you click submit; please ensure accuracy and carefully review the summary page before you click “Submit Request.”
If you are not attending this year’s Commencement Ceremony because you are not completing your program this semester, please can reach out to your academic advisor to update your graduation application and expected graduation date to a 2027 graduation date.
How to apply to graduate

Log onto the Student Hub.

Click the “Resources” tab.

Click on the “Graduation” section, choose “Apply to Graduate,” and complete the questionnaire.
Note: If you receive an error message or your program information is incorrect, alert your academic advisor.

Changes after you submit your graduation application
Updating degree information
- If you need to update your degree information (such as degree, major, or conferral date), you must contact your advisor or the dean’s office of your college. Request that they complete and submit a “Curriculum or Conferral Date Change” form to the Office of the Registrar.
Updating diploma mailing address
- After completing the application, you may choose the “View Application to Graduate” link to review your details and/or to update your diploma mailing address. You may edit your address no later than two weeks prior to graduating.
Ceremony details
- The Apply to Graduate form is vital in providing your college/school, the Office of the Registrar, and the Commencement Office with the critical information needed to serve you.
- Please note that your application to graduate does not include ticketing, global campus ceremony registration, or college celebration registration. Depending on the events you are eligible to attend, students will receive a follow-up email regarding these registrations at a later date.
- There are no commencement ceremonies held directly following Fall or Summer terms.
- Complete ceremony information is being updated as planning continues. All current information can be found on our FAQ page, which will be updated regularly.
Making a name change
- If you’d like to update your first or last name, complete the Commencement and Student Record Name Change Form and submit it to the Office of the Registrar. Changes to your diploma name or other information must be submitted no later than six weeks prior to your graduation date by emailing the Office of the Registrar.
International address
- If you have an international address, please provide an international phone number.
