Apply to Graduate
2026-27 Degree Candidates
All eligible 2026–27 degree candidates must complete the Graduation Application by the deadlines below. We’ll be communicating via email to share important information about this process, so please read all Northeastern emails about applying to graduate.
Read the instructions carefully as you fill out the Apply to Graduate form. You will not be able to go back into the application and update this information once you click submit; please ensure accuracy and carefully review the summary page before you click “Submit Request.”
If you are not attending this year’s Commencement Ceremony because you are not completing your program this semester, please reach out to your academic advisor to update your graduation application and expected graduation date to a 2028 graduation date.
How to apply to graduate

Log onto the Student Hub.

Click the “Resources” tab.

Click on the “Graduation” section, choose “Apply to Graduate,” and complete the questionnaire.
Note: If you receive an error message or your program information is incorrect, alert your academic advisor.

How do I view my responses after I’ve submit the application?
You can view your application responses at Student Hub > Resources > Graduation > View Application to Graduate.
How do I change my responses after I’ve submit the application?
To update your Diploma Mailing Address, Doctoral student information, International phone number (for international shipping):
- Use the form at Student Hub > Resources > Graduation > Graduation/Commencement Form.
To request a Diploma name change:
- Use the Personal Details Update form. For instructions, see Diplomas FAQ: What name will be printed on my diploma?
Will my application be approved?
You will receive a submission confirmation email, but there is no formal approval process. Your advisor will review your application for alignment with your EGD and remaining requirements.
When will I start receiving communication about graduation?
Communication regarding Commencement typically begins at the end of January for all eligible students who have applied to graduate. Emails are sent weekly to students who newly apply for graduation. Students who apply in February or later should allow approximately 1–2 weeks after submitting their graduation application to receive Commencement information.
